Shannon Hart is a 5th generation native Californian who graduated with dual BA degrees in political science and journalism from USC, which launched her into the field of communications until she left for full-time pursuit of artistic creative endeavors. Inspired by the shapes and interplay of life’s dazzling colors and patterns, Shannon is a mixed-media artist who creates personal surreal portraits of people, places & concepts through a blend of realism and abstract art. Her first introduction was realistic drawing with graphite & ink as a teenager. She continued to evolve as an artist and has created vibrant, expressive art works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel & photography. She has lived in Washington, DC, London, Los Angeles, Cape Town, South Africa & San Francisco. Now living in Marin, she is a member of the Marin Society of Artists.
